A TikTok posted by @chrissyvbarron on July 9, 2026, recounts her experience with an older supervisor at a medical supply company when she was 21. The video had received approximately 2.2 million views and 241,100 likes at the time of publication.

The creator was responding to a comment about preparing young women for conflicts with older female coworkers. She said she had worked full time at the company after spending the final two years of college in accounting, where she had not experienced similar problems. At the medical supply company, she advanced from a junior role to an intermediate position in a relatively short period, while some colleagues were decades older than her.

According to her account, the supervisor began monitoring her computer activity after arriving at work around 7 or 8 a.m., although the creator said she had already been working for some time. She also said the supervisor criticized how much water she drank and how often she used the bathroom. At first, she viewed the behavior as strict management and did not understand how serious it might be.

Employees could select different shifts based on their accounts, and the creator said she worked from 6 a.m. to 2:33 p.m. After work, she picked up her dogs from daycare and trained and coached CrossFit. She eventually asked about moving to another manager’s team, where a friend worked, describing that manager as kind.

Instead of being handled as a routine transfer request, the matter was referred to human resources. When HR asked why she wanted to change teams, the creator said she explained that her supervisor frequently singled her out. She recalled that she intended to resign and did not want the supervisor dismissed, but said the company fired the supervisor and coworkers blamed her afterward.

The creator said she resigned anyway, accepted a job in Belgium and moved there. Other viewers responded with accounts of alleged mistreatment in health care and other workplaces. One commenter said bullying and verbal abuse had contributed to taking antidepressant and anxiety medication before eventually transferring. Another commenter said her daughter had faced similar treatment across several jobs, while a different viewer described a colleague assigning her duties despite being equal in rank.
