Mark Tilbury, a British multi-millionaire whose YouTube channel has more than 9.3 million subscribers, has made a case for GTA 6 as a relatively inexpensive way to spend time. In a recent video, he estimated that choosing the game over nights out could save consumers as much as $5,000.
Tilbury bases his calculation on a $99.99 purchase price and at least 80 hours of entertainment, which works out to about $1.24 per hour. He says side missions could add further playtime and bring the estimated cost down to around 50 cents per hour.
His comparison assumes players spend four hours a night playing across roughly 50 evenings. Tilbury contrasts that with nights out at a bar, which he says can cost about $100 each, arriving at the $5,000 figure.
The estimate depends on individual habits: not every player would otherwise spend $100 each night at a bar. Still, the calculation offers one way to compare the game’s price with other forms of entertainment.
