TikTok creator @em.receipts recounted how a date reacted after she told him she would not stay overnight. In a video posted on Sept. 23, 2026, she said the man sent her a long message about 30 minutes after she got home. The video had more than 687,500 views and 28,600 likes at the time of publication.

She said their first date at a bar went well: he was funny, paid for the drinks and walked her to her Uber. He suggested that she come over another time so he could cook. She told him she would enjoy that, but added that she did not stay over at people’s homes.

On their second date, he reportedly said there would be no pressure. She took that as a positive sign, but later received a text saying he thought they had a genuine connection and did not understand why she would kiss him and then “create this distance.” He also said it made him feel that she did not trust his intentions.

The creator said she replied that the issue was not about trust. According to her account, he then wrote that he did not date people who made him feel he had to prove himself constantly. He also acknowledged that she was entitled to her boundaries and said he could decide whether they worked for him.

She said he had spent time looking through her profile after she left and had liked, then unliked, a photo from 2021. She blocked him, saying that what she viewed as a simple “not yet” had become an “emotional hostage” situation. She asked viewers whether they would have blocked him or tried to explain further.

Commenters offered mixed reactions, with several supporting her decision and interpreting the message as a test of how far she would compromise. Another said the man had shown his character early, meaning she did not have to spend more time discovering whether they were compatible.

The Daily Dot said it could not independently verify the events described. The account above is based on the creator’s TikTok video.
