A TikTok creator known as @hannahrussel0 says a conversation with a co-worker about her favorite energy drink ended with the colleague buying the entire supply at a nearby gas station. Russell shared the story in a video posted Jan. 16, 2026, describing the incident as “co-worker betrayal.”
Russell said she had told the co-worker about a blue, crisp apple-flavored sparkling energy drink that her sister had introduced her to. The colleague asked where it was sold, she recalled. Two days later, Russell stopped at the gas station on her way to the gym and found none of the drinks on the shelf.
According to Russell, the co-worker later told her they had bought all of them and had spent $1,600. Russell said she has not spoken to the colleague since.
The video had received more than 300,000 likes and 3,000 comments at the time of publication. Some commenters questioned the reported spending, while others discussed boundaries and trust between co-workers. The Daily Dot said it could not independently verify Russell’s account.
