A restaurant server says a customer made increasingly unusual comments during a meal, including asking her to tell him he was “bad.” TikTok creator @gabrielle.emerson_ shared the story in a video posted June 10, which had received 794,800 views at the time of publication.
In her account, Emerson said the man first ordered a Coke, water and two glasses. When she repeated the order, he clarified that he did not want the drinks mixed. She said she laughed and described him as funny before taking his food order.
Emerson said the customer chose one of her favorite meals. She suggested a modification she makes to her own order and offered to bring him the original version if he did not like it. According to her, he then asked whether he could throw the food on the floor. After she said no, he asked several more times whether she was sure.
The man then asked Emerson to tell him he was awful, she said. When she declined, he asked her to tell him he was good instead. Emerson said the customer was with a party of five, whose other members sat quietly as he spoke to her. She said her manager eventually had to address the table because the man was being “sexual.”
The video prompted comments from other people describing uncomfortable encounters while working as servers. The Daily Dot said it could not independently verify the events in Emerson’s account; the details are based on her TikTok video.
