Pokémon and Fender have unveiled two limited-edition electric guitars created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, which debuted in Japan in 1996.
The collaboration includes the Made in Japan Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster and Pokémon Green Version Telecaster. Beyond their visual references to the early Pokémon games, the instruments feature a toggle for 8-bit audio and a special neck plate commemorating the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
Preorders are expected to open soon, although physical deliveries are not scheduled until 2027. In Japan, allocations will be handled through an online lottery running from November 19 to 24.
U.S. buyers will be able to look for preorders through Pokémon Center. Given the expected demand, prospective buyers are advised to prepare their account details in advance and monitor the store when the listing becomes available.
