The November 2 edition of NYT Strands uses the theme “High and mighty,” with answers connected to geographic features and things that can be found at high elevations.
Strands is a word-search puzzle in which letters can be connected vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The paths can change direction, creating unusual shapes, and every letter in the grid belongs to an answer. Each puzzle also includes a Spangram that summarizes the theme and crosses the grid.
For today’s puzzle, the spangram hint asks whether the answer is vertical or horizontal. The spangram is “Mountaintop,” and the complete word list is:
- Glacier - Peak - Snow - Mountaintop - Cliff - Ridge - Summit - Saddle
The theme hints that the answers describe what players might find up high. Strands offers a more involved challenge than other New York Times games such as Wordle and Connections because the word list is not provided at the start.
