Apple Music’s new Selfie Sing feature lets users record themselves performing karaoke and export the video to their phone’s photo library. It appeared in the first developer beta of iOS 27.3, released late Tuesday, and is not yet available to most users.

To use it, choose a song from the feature’s playlist, start recording, and sing along using the iPhone’s camera and microphones. Lyrics appear on screen, while the original vocals remain faintly audible. After recording, users can apply basic vocal effects before saving the video.

Selfie Sing currently offers 49 songs, including tracks by Oasis, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Bonnie Tyler, Men at Work, The Goo Goo Dolls, Madonna and Marvin Gaye. Recordings are limited to one minute, which may not be long enough to perform a full song. The feature has been tested on an iPhone Duo, where it was reported to work.

As Selfie Sing is only in the iOS 27.3 developer beta, its current restrictions may change in a future version.
